Stylin' Sybil

Fashion colors for Spring 2008 (according to Pantone Inc) are defined by classic neutrals punctuated by invigorating brights--lending a youthful, cheerfulness to the season's fashions.

Neutrals:                      Brights:                   Pastels:
Golden Olive     Rococco Red         Pink Mist
Croissant       Spring Crocus      Cantaloupe
Snorkel Blue         Freesia       Daiquiri Green
Silver Grey

Warm Oranges:  Here's your chance to shine in this season's new 'golden Olive'.  Consider this a wonderful neutral to mix with many colors on your palette--the red, oranges, even blues and teals as well as the darker browns.  Warm Goldens and Warm Tawnys can also make use of this great neutral--keeping with brighter, lighter tones for the goldens an dcolors with more substance for the Tawnys.  For those of you in the cool spectrums, be careful with this one--if you choose it--be sure the secondary color mixed with one or more of your flattering shades.

Warm Goldens:  Croissant is a great neutral for you--combine it with your warmest reds, and pair it with the 'freesia', 'cantaloupe', and 'daiguiri green' of this season!

Warm Tawnys:  You can easily use the 'Golden Olive' as a neutral as well as the 'Croissant'--keep your colors a little stronger--make use of the 'Freesia' and even the 'Cantaloupe' and 'Daiguiri Green'--look for slightly stronger shades of these colors and don't be afraid to mix them with some of your darker neutrals--especially your warm browns.

Cool violets:  Designed with you in mind is this season's 'Silver Gray'--keep it mixed with your boldest colors--black, red, hot turquoise, and even the new 'Spring Crocus.'  Cool reds and Cool Roses can also utilize this.

Cool Roses:  'Pink Mist' and 'Spring Crocus' will flatter your softer coloring--mix them with the 'Silver Gray' for a gorgeous, soft look for spring and summer.  If you decide to utilize any of the other fashion colors--be sure to combine them with one of these more flattering shades.

Cool Reds:  As usual--have fun!  You can manage all of these colors--be a little conservative with the 'Golden Olive', 'Freesia', 'Cantaloupe', and 'Daiquiri Green'--they need to be used as accents with other, more flattering colors in your palette.

The perfect universal color this Spring is the 'Snorkel Blue'--everybody can use this versatile neutral!  It combines beautifully with other colors--consider it with the 'Rococco Red' for the Cool Rds, with 'Freesia' for the Warm Goldens, with "silver grey' for the Cool Violets, with 'Cantaloupe' for the Warm Tawnys, with "Pink Mist' for the Cool Roses, and 'Daiquiri Green' and/or 'Freesia' for the Warm Oranges.  these are merely suggestions--let your own creativity use this season's colors and fashions to create a style that is uniquely YOU!

Stay tuned to the Fashion Academy web site as we update the fashion colors and styles of the seasons.  Showing you how to combine colors not on your palette with those that are more flattering!

Until next time....

Colorfully Yours,

Stylin' Sybil
